Political Office Internship with California State Senator Ling Ling Chang

I am blown away by the amount of knowledge that I have gained through this political office internship. From June to August, I interned in the office of California Senator Ling Ling Chang to enhance my professional skills and broaden my knowledge of political campaign offices. I worked alongside Senator Chang and her team to address the needs of over 846,792 constituents. One of the largest projects that I worked on was researching SB-23 (Senate Bill) to address the concerns of constituents affected by car break-ins. This project required me to draft letters to the constituents in the district and research the bill to a great extent. By the end of the project, I knew the Senate Bill like the back of my hand!
Besides researching bills, I was also in charge of researching and compiling adoption events, community events, and grand opening events. Moreover, the highlights of my internship include the additional outside office hours events, ranging from parades to nonprofit certificate ceremonies. One of the nonprofit certificate ceremonies that I attended to support Senator Chang was for a local animal clinic that recently offered free microchipping services for recently adopted animals.
Overall, I am so thankful that I was accepted into the internship program with Senator Ling Ling Chang because it broadened my political horizons and allowed for me to truly experience an office.
