My Biology Group Mesocosm Sustainability Project

In biology class, for the duration of a week, we monitored our mesocosm project. In groups of four, we created a fully-sealed mesocosm and the goal of the mesocosm was to create a fully sustainable environment for the fish and the snails to survive in.

Surprisingly, our mesocosm survived the whole week!! We think that our mesocosm was able to sustain itself because we provided water, air, dirt and sand for shelter, seaweed/grass, and snails. Together, each of the components interacted with one another to create an ecosystem in which they could survive! Although our mesocosm survived for a week, I'm not sure if it would last for any more time...
