My Eighth Grade Promotion

Wow. I am officially a big, mighty freshman. That’s hard to believe, especially since I am four feet and eleven and a half inches. I must say, I am devastated to say goodbye to some of my closest friends who will be attending different high schools. Regardless of that, promotion was still a day that I will never forget.

At Kraemer, it was minimum day, so all classes were roughly 30 minutes. After break, we lined up in our formation to be ready to shine. I was both excited and sad at the same time, because I knew that I would be missing my friends greatly. After waiting for about 30 minutes for the principal to figure out everything that he needed, we began walking to the football field where our promotion took place. Everyone was so elegant, so well-groomed for this important day. We sat in some nice folding chairs as our principal began his speech. It was a memorable speech, something about fidget spinners and “dabbing”, something only a true Kraemer cub would understand what he was talking about. After that came the calling of the role, fancy for getting our certificates and shaking the principal and vice principal’s hand.

Promotion quickly came to an end and surprisingly, I was able to find my friends with all of the people all in a tight area of space. We hugged and said bye, while giving each other some “farewell gifts”. After taking a few pictures to remember this marvelous day, I headed home while feeling nostalgic the whole ride home. I guess it’s pretty nice to call myself a freshman now.
