A Project with Passion: Linens N Love
In 2014, I co-founded Linens N Love with my sister, May, after witnessing the common hotel industry practice of discarding linens with slight imperfections into landfills. At Linens N Love, we emphasize service-based learning as we have student volunteers reach out to hotels to request linens donations. From there, student leaders donate these linens to local shelters supporting the homeless, animals, women, teens, veterans, and more. While teaching our student leaders the importance of social entrepreneurship and sustainability, we also organize annual leadership summits for our team.
As an award-winning, student-led 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Linens N Love has connected hundreds of youths around the world. To date, we have donated over 30,000 linens and I'm looking forward to reaching our 100,000 linen donation milestone. In the long run, I aspire to use the power of technology and create a mobile or web app for Linens N Love.
